This new Academy has been created through a partnership between Westminster Council, Westminster Kingsway College (Victoria Centre), Pop-up Business School and industry partners in Westminster.

Aimed at 18-24 year olds who are Westminster residents and are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).

What is our goal?

This project is way more than “just chocolate making.” This is an experience where you get to figure out what you really want, who you are, and where you want to go. If you already know those things then that’s great! Let us open the doors for you to step through into the success you deserve.

Makers Enterprise offers new, practical, hands on opportunities to receive training at the WKC’s Victoria Centre. This is where we learn about starting a small chocolate making business, which will grow skills that can lead to employment in this sector and others!

We have access to specialised facilities, industry visits and training from experts in business and sales.

The goal of this project is to get young people into the career of their dreams. Whatever you want to do, whether that be Music, Sport, Science or even just start up your own business, we are here to break down barriers and help you make it happen!

Why ‘Makers Enterprise’?

Some of you may ask, “Why chocolate?”

Well, the answer is simple. There is HUGE demand for chocolate. Have a look at the following table showing just how much money is involved. (m=Million)

Chocolate is versatile, which means “to be able to adapt or be adapted to many functions or activities.” So people will buy chocolates for many different reasons and that means we will get plenty of opportunities to practise those marketing and business skills that will change the way you think and work forever!

We want YOU to make money. We want to YOU to become the expert.

Not only will you have more opportunities than you can imagine, you will have gained the experience to prove that you are more than capable AND you will be REWARDED for your time, not metaphorically, but literally! What your groups make and sell will not just be taken away. You are given your reward at the graduation, to remind you that hard work DOES pay and you should NEVER GIVE UP.
